Ms Honey Desai
Lunchtime Nurture Club Supervisor
Following my graduation, with a BA (Hons) in Journalism and Editorial Design, I moved to Italy to teach English, as a foreign language, in a private school and to Directors of Vodafone Italia and Safilo. On my return, I initially worked as a journalist for a local newspaper in Birmingham then moved into Public Relations, working in advertising and PR agencies the Midlands, London and New York, where I dealt with all aspects of account management for clients across an array of B2B and B2C sectors.
After the birth of my eldest child in 2009, I was fortunate to discover BabyCalm and ToddlerCalm which led me to train as a course facilitator enabling me to deliver scientifically based parenting classes. The training provided me with great insight into child psychology and neuroscience of brain development, which proved extremely useful with my own parenting skills. My interest in child development was further heightened when I discovered an erudite mindfulness programme, tailored primarily for young children, called Relax Kids.
In 2015, I trained to become a Relax Kids Coach and have delivered classes at the Croft School and to private clients. My love for children has offered me with the opportunity to volunteer at various schools. I feel very fortunate to have been welcomed by Stratford Primary, where I initially started as a parent reader and have gained valuable classroom experience, leading to my current position as Nurture Club facilitator.
The Nurture Club has proved extremely popular with the children enjoying the space to play games, draw, listen to music, explore their own wishes and chill out during the school day. It is a privilege to spend time with the children who all bring something special to the sessions.
