Assembly themes

At Stratford Primary, assemblies are a vital part of our school life - they help us to communicate our school vision and values. PSHE is central to our assemblies and we also practice embrace fundamental British Values and collective worship, where children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural curiosity is stimulated, challenged and nurtured.

Every Monday and Friday, we have a whole school assembly in the school hall with a key focus linked to local, national and global events/ issues.

Throughout the year, assemblies might be planned and delivered by the School Council; the pupil Safeguarding Committee (Team Safe) or Year 6 House Captains.
We also invite visitors to come in and lead assemblies, including visitors from the local Church, Holy Trinity Church; local business owners/ employees; Emergency Services; authors; artists; musicians etc.

Throughout the week, children have class assemblies, Key Stage singing assemblies and Newsround assemblies.

Once a month, the whole school attend a Language of the Month assembly, where our multi-lingual children and their families are able to talk to the rest of the school about the languages they speak and their cultural traditions.
We also have a monthly Achievement assembly, where children's families are invited in to school to celebrate with us. Staff are able to nominate a child from each class for a general Head Teacher's achievement award; a Well-being warrior award, linked to our PSHE curriculum, and a Writer of the Month award.
