Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!
Welcome to Year 6 where Mrs McCormack is the class teacher. Your children are supported in their learning by Mrs Euinton.

Year 6 is a very busy but hopefully an enjoyable and fulfilling final year for the children at Stratford Primary School.

As part of preparing for transition to secondary school, the children are encouraged to be more self-reliant and self-sufficient and to take on more of the responsibility for their own learning and progress. The children are also encouraged to take on roles of responsibility both in the classroom and around the school.

Year 6 Learning Themes:

1. Darwin's Delights
2. Fallen Fields/A Child's War

1. Frozen Kingdom
2. Hola Mexico

1. Gallery Rebels
2. Gallery Rebels / ID
Our Super Starter this half term is a visit from a WWI soldier. Our Fabulous Finish will be our 'End of War Celebration Day', which will include an opportunity for sharing some of our fantastic work with our parents in the afternoon.
Year 6 have a few weeks off from Depth Homework in Spring 2. Instead all should use their Achieve 100 revision guides to help them complete weekly Maths and SPAG homework and to practice their skills and knowledge leading up to Y6 assessments in May.
