  • Mrs Louise Thomas

    Community Governor

I am a Warwick University English graduate and have spent 35 years teaching and advising in Coventry and Warwickshire schools at both primary and secondary levels. I specialised in English as an Additional Language and Race Equality in education and also had experience as a secondary deputy SENDco. I have had the privilege of supporting children and their families from all over the world; working alongside and providing training for wonderful teachers committed to welcoming these children into their school communities and celebrating the cultural diversity they bring. More recently, since “official” retirement, I have worked as an initial teacher educator at Warwick University School of Education as well as providing supply cover for the Coventry Speech and Language Service.

I have lived in this community for over 30 years bringing up two daughters who gained an excellent start to their educational achievement at Stratford Primary to become enthusiastic and successful learners – now both are also teachers. I remain passionate about education and feel I have the time to give something back to the school where my children were so happy. I am excited about providing support to the staff, children and parents of this school in any way I can.

Any spare time I have is taken up with keeping fit – I attend dance and fitness classes as well as walking and cycling with my husband at home and abroad. I love attending ballet and modern dance in performance, classical music and rock concerts – Bruce Springsteen in particular(!) as well as theatre and cinema. I am also a keen gardener and enjoy visiting gardens all over the country.
